Description:
Serial #11652, .455 Webley, 5 3/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling along its length. This is a handsome revolver that has retained 75-80% of the original brushed blue finish on the frame with the cylinder having a commensurate amount of the original brilliant blue remaining. The balance of the metal has faded to a freckled, pewter gray patina. The left side of the frame is stamped with “W^D" on the left side just behind the hinge; and extensive London commercial proofs on the right side. The walnut grip is in good condition with numerous minor handling marks, and a narrow, linear chip missing from the top of the left side. The lock-up is still tight with a hint of lateral play in the barrel assembly, and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a good-very good example of a seldom seen British revolver, and would make a splendid addition to a collection. Antique
