This is a very nice, seven-shot, late production model, made without the push-button hammer block on the left side of the frame. The revolver is not retailer marked, but does have the Tranter “football" marking on the left side at the breech. The metal retains 75-80% of the original bright gold finish on the frame and barrel, with the majority of the finish loss occurring on the barrel flats where the underlying bright nickel plate has worn through. The cylinder retains a commensurate amount of original blue, while the hammer and trigger retain nearly all of their original bright fire bluing. The checkered walnut grips are in fine shape with a few scattered minor handling marks, and some mild flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a period English, burled walnut case with dark blue baize lining, original key and cleaning rod. This is a handsome cased revolver, with an unusually level of original gold finish remaining, that would make a fabulous addition to any collection of fine Tranter handguns.
