Description:
A nice clean British Sea Searvice Officers  pistol  with a .67 cal, 9 1/4" barrel with an oxidized bore. The metal surfaces of this pistol are a mottled plum-brown and gunmetal gray patina showing scattered spots of old pitting. There are some faint remnants of markings along the barrel that are no longer legible and the breech is stamped with two clear British proofs. The cock and lockplate show some more moderate old pitting and the markings are somewhat obscured but still visible with "TOWER" behind the cock, "(Crown) / GR" Royal Cypher in the center along with small "(Crown) / 1" proof. Some of the screws and the cock appear to be older replacements, the barrel appears to be an original flint barrel although the lockplate is not quite perfectly fitted and may be a period replacement. The brass hardware has toned to a mild ocher patina showing an old repair along the triggerguard tang and scattered small to moderate dings throughout. The walnut stock remains in good condition showing an old repair on the right side below the lockplate that has been neatly camouflaged, scattered thin cracks at the tip, tang and lock screw, some old light chips around the butt and other light handling marks. A replacement steel ramrod is present and the lock is generally functional but the mainspring is rather weak. Shipping may be higher than stated as shippers raise their prices twice  year without notice! When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.   We don’t have a web  site .I prefer money orders or a check.  Item ships when funds come in. I try to keep guns  affordable, which means I make less money than most dealers. You won’t get altitude sickness, or nose bleed, with my prices! I consistently have the best selection of  older guns If you attempt to buy,  you must still contact us for details . Best to email to buy. Sometimes a local person can stop buy and purchase before the gun is removed.  Sometimes not home to get calls. Some guns are required shipment to a gun dealer near you for a transfer to you when it arrives. Otherwise many older or black powder guns ship to your door. With the widest selection of older guns at great prices, We don’t have a store, and sell on the internet only.  I’m easy to get along with. Thank You.
