Serial 838xx Manufactured in 1897
Condition: Nice, early antique 92 carbine. 20” barrel. The receiver, barrel and magazine tube are natural brown patina. Original ladder sight and post sight. The wood set is pretty good except around the upper tang area where the tang has been repaired. The stock is ill-fitted in that area and is missing some wood in the lower right side near the lower tang. The repair is a fairly good job. It could be touched up a bit better. The bore is pretty good. It’s at least a shiny, strong rifle bore 8-8.5 and should clean up a lot nicer.
The repair on the upper tang seems to be strong and solid. It will make a fantastic shooter or fixer upper. Research from the CODY museum confirms that it entered the warehouse on December 20, 1907 as a carbine in .44 caliber (ANTIQUE). Ships right to your front door.
