Description:
A very rare gun. It has a full octagon barrel marked Stevens Pope on top. Caliber 22. Very good bore with shiny sharp rifling. Sights include a peep hooded front sight, Stevens model 487 scope and Lyman tang sight. Fluer-de-Lis style checkered stocks in fine condition with a cheek piece and Pope style buttplate. Retains most original varnish. Complete with a very scarce original Laudensack forearm.
Gun is in fine condition with 90% blue turning dark. Nicely engraved receiver has about 20% original case colors with the balance turning a nickel color. Beautifully engraved with several styles of scroll engraving on the receiver and a floral border, all very nicely done. Stevens style finger lever as well as Pope double set triggers. The action is Model 44 with a Pope number 726 barrel.
