Description:
SOLD...Antique Remington Derringer. Here is a decent Remington over under Derringer. It is in .41 Rim Fire of course. It has the one line Ilion NY address. S/N 318 and matching on barrel and frame. Perfect solid hinges with no cracks. Mechanics are excellent. The firing pin moves correctly from the top to the bottom barrel.. Both hammer notches are perfect and positive. The barrels lock up to the frame like new with no movement when open or closed. Gun is tight as new. The bores are very good and showing all of the rifling with mild roughness. Not shot out or pitted out like so many of these you will find. Barrel address is clear. The barrels show about 85% to 90% original nickel. The frame shows no finish on the sides and has about 75% down the back strap, about 30% on the front grip area and all the nickel on the bottom frame lug area in front of the trigger. The sides of the frame have been cleaned of finish. The left side shows some pitting. Not pitted on the right side. The grips are excellent with no cracks or chips. They look almost too good compared to the frame condition so they could be replacements. They fit perfect.... Some nice bright blue on the grip screw. Extractor moves freely and not frozen or rusted. Not much else to say about this one. Just a very serviceable little Derringer at a very reasonable price. This would fill a spot in a collection or until a nicer one comes along.
