Description:
Up for sale is a very nice, high grade double by WC Scott with 2 SETS OF BARRELS! This well balanced, great pointing beauty was made in 1894! It is in great condition for being 125 years old. Plus, it ships direct to your door, in a period correct “Adapto” hard case! The fit, highly figured, finely checkered walnut is outstanding, and the wonderful engraving is the perfect complement. Both sets of barrels are dent free; the 28” Birmingham Damascus barrels have strong pattern throughout, with shiny bores, 2 ½” chambers and are choked Cyl/Cyl. At some point it was sent back to the maker to have 26” STEEL barrels made, with 2 ¾” chambers, which sport Light Mod/Light Mod chokes, and shiny bores. The bluing is excellent with some wear around the fore arm area. The double lug barrel is built for heavy duty shooting. This gun is absolutely tight on face and solid. The square cross bolt is a variation of Greener's, and is dubbed the Scott improved bolt. Another unique feature is the crystal indicators. The internal hammers are visible when cocked, and then drop out of sight when fired. Small details of craftsmanship, such as the well fitted and ornate for end release lever, really make this double unique. Note; a couple very faint cracks in the fore arm wood. (see pic). Complete with an automatic safety, extractors and crisp triggers. DAC 1 5/8" DAH 2 3/8" LOP 14 ½” over a Galazan vintage pad. 7.24lbs with steel barrels / 7.36lbs with damascus barrels, so it is ideal for hunting or the range. $50 insured UPS ground. NO CA Sales.
