Description:
Up for your consideration is a very nice example of a very late 1945 Remington Rand model 1911a1. This pistol would have been one of the last 5000 ever made by Remington Rand. These late RRs are sometimes found in this type of condition because they were finished just as the war was winding down. Many were unissued or very lightly used. This example has the original High Standard barrel with excellent bore and correct third model slide. What makes this example very desirable is the ultra rare MR stamp. This stamp is an arsenal marking from the Mount Rainier arsenal in Tacoma Washington. These rare guns do not come up for sale often especially in this condition. This gun also comes with the original Director of Civilian Marksmanship box which includes the original wax paper and cleaning cloth.
