Unmarked American Saw Handle Pistol. Made circa 1840-1850. .45 Caliber with a 7” octagon barrel. Nice sharp gun with a dark gray patina. The action is nicely engraved. Grips are excellent. Action works well. This guns only marking is “CAST STEEL” on the top of the barrel. This is a very interesting gun and unfortunately we cannot definitively identify the maker. Our gut feel is that this is an Allen manufacture based on the engraving and construction of the frame. Very interesting American Saw Handle Percussion pistol!
