Description:
1940 Colt 1911A1. This is a rare CSR ( Major Charles S. Reed ) inspected pistol. There were only 4696 shipped in 1940 making it one of the rarest and most sought after years. This is an all original pistol. The slide and frame are numbers matching. It has the correct small G barrl that is P proofed on the lug. It is rare to find one that has survived as these were issued to the Army and were used throughout the war. This one is above average but far from perfect. The finish rates about 85% as seen in the photos. There bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. It shows light wear and overall it rates an 8 out of 10. The grips remain in excellent condition with only very light and scattered handling.
