Description:
New York State Contract Rifle in 50-70 Caliber. This is basically a model 1871 US rifle with and extra barrel band and a 36 inch barrel with a good bore that has a very few light pits. The gun has had a light coat of varnish applied which helped to protect the condition of the gun. There are a number of markings stamped into the wood. Probablt rack numbers. No markings on the metall except for a "B" on the barrel bands and the Remington Patent information on the upper tang and a letter "R" on the left side of the reciever. Over all a good sound gun for the military collector or shooter.
