1943 WW2 BRITISH ENFIELD NO2 MK1 ** OR NO. 2 MK. 1** .38S&W (.38/200) 2" SNUBNOSE DBL ACTION ONLY REVOLVER. Serial number "W91XX" and all matching. "W" prefix denotes block made in 1943. Intertwined "EFD" markings along with "DI**" correct denote Enfield made and the last variation (**) with five pointed stars of the the N02 Mk.1 type. All other British acceptance stamps crisp and legible(see photos) so never been refinished and has the original arsenal finish throughout. Original bakelite grips. Lanyard ring ground off probably at the same time it was altered to snubnose config for typical American marketing purposes. No import marks so pre 1960's alteration. Not necessarily common but seen many over the years. Altered to make them more saleable in the cheap handgun market in the USA. Known as a "Tanker" or "Tankie" model but not really true to anything made by Enfield during the War.
