Description:
1800s JOHN GRIFFITH Engraved Antique Belt PISTOL

Ornate Pistol with Large .57 Caliber Bore

Here we present an antique Belt Pistol by John Griffith, made circa 1855 in England. This pistol was made by hand by a master of his craft. Each part is hand-fitted for very tight tolerances. The lock, hammer, breech of the barrel, barrel tang, pommel cap, and trigger guard are all finely engraved. The pommel, trigger guard, and stock cap are silver plated. Gold band at the breech. The trigger guard has a hook on the bottom for a middle finger rest for more stability. The stock is very nicely checkered. The barrel is octagonal and heavy, though this feature helps achieve a very nice balance. The bore is .57 caliber. The top of the barrel is marked “John Griffith” with the following word being illegible.

Overall condition is very good. The bore is smooth and dark. The action remains strong and crisp.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 8-1/4 inches.

Caliber: .57

Overall condition as seen in photos.
