This is for Remington New Model Navy that was converted from .36 percussion to .38 Rimfire by the Remington factory. Starting in 1873, Remington began converting Navy .36 percussion revolvers to .38 Rimfire. After the Navy percussion inventory was converted (estimated at several thousand), Remington now made cartridge Navy revolvers (through to 1878). This revolver is one of the factory-converted percussion revolvers. It is serial number 41,670 with factory conversion Number 784. This revolver will ship in a awesome, custom black walnut case that measures 16 3/4" X 9" X 3 5/8" with an inset of curly maple in the lid and: * a nine round bullet block, * a compartment for a box within the bullet block, * a silver eagle mounted on the bullet block, * a solid brass knob on the covered compartment wherein is stored an African ebony and pre-ban ivory handled screwdriver, * an African ebony and pre-ban ivory handled cleaning rod and brush, and * a brass oiler.
