Payment Types Accepted: cashiers check or money order Description: No Reserve! This listing is for a cased set of Smith & Wesson antique revolvers: a Model #2 Old Army and a Model 1 1/2. Both are chambered for the .32 Rimfire Long cartridge. The Model #2 is a 6" barrel, spur trigger, 6-shot revolver. It was shipped from the factory on December 9, 1864 (factory letter included). The Model #2 was a very popular sidearm with Union officers and enlisted men alike. It was introduced on the eve of the Civil War with ~ 75,000 produced through 1875. The Model 1 1/2 (1st variation) was introduced in 1865, and the 2nd variation in 1868 (ceasing Model 1 1/2 production 1875). The 1st variation is only about 20% of the total Model 1 1/2 production. This Model 1 1/2 is the scarce 1st variation, with the 3 1/2" octagon barrel. It was designed to serve as a personal protection (concealed carry) weapon when the larger Model #2 demand waning with the end of the Civil War. These 2 revolvers will ship with: * an awesome, solid black walnut, custom case, * an open compartment with a handmade, bone handled cleaning rod and brush, * an open center compartment for a box of ammo, * a silver oiler, and * the factory letter for the Model #2 Old Army. This cased set of S&W revolvers can be found in the 2nd Edition of "The Civil War and the Firearms Trade", page 335. The box of ammo shown is not included in the . SOLD Antique: Yes |
