Description:
Serial #1442, .41 RF, 2 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is a late type deringer that has retained 75-80% of a period reapplied nickel finish that has flaked at the muzzle and along the high edges and projections. There is some dark pitting at the sides of the muzzle, and yellow brass is visible on the frame in spots. The proofs on the underside are still crisp and clear, and the hammer has an overall mottled gray patina. The walnut grips are in very good shape, but the varnish has flaked at the butt on both panels. The lock-up is tight and the action is fully functional. Despite the low number, this pistol has all of the characteristics of a very late model gun, and it is known that some British Third Models were numbered out of sequence, as this one is. FFL or C&R
