This is a true civil war hand gun! It's the New model 1858 Remington 44 cal. With 8 inch barrel and matching numbers witch are 61480 marked under barrel and under grips . Barrel address is almost all complete.
The state of New Jersey ordered 1000 direct from Remington for the civil war state militia. This one of the 1000.
there is no original finish on this Remington.
bore is very good the action is spot on they were shipped with no cartouche on grips, the NJ markings were there accptance markings. The grips have most all original varnish.
