US Springfield Model 1868 (dated 1869) 50-70 Trapdoor Army Rifle. Breach block marked US 1869 with the eagles head. Lock marked US Springfield 1863. Blued barrel with correct front and rear sights. Receiver and barrel correctly sr. Numbered 17182. But plate marked US. Full length walnut Stock has been lightly refinished so only one cartouche outline is visible. Brass unit or rack number is located behind the trigger guard. Original single shoulder cleaning rod is in place. The bore rates only fair as there is visible rifling with some pitting.
