Colt New Service .455 Eley caliber revolver. RCMP Marked Colt New Service made in 1914. This is a nice sharp gun that has around 30% of the original finish. The backstrap is stamped “R.N.W.M.P. 990”, which stands for “Royal North West Mounted Police”. Serial No. 61445 was one of the 100 guns shipped to Thomas Birkett & Son in Ottawa on August 25th, 1914. This was the last of 100 guns in a total of 650 guns shipped in 1913-14. It is listed by serial number in the book on Royal Canadian Mounted Police weapons. Very neat RCMP New Service!
