Samuel Nock was the nephew of famed innovative gunmaker Henry Nock and apprenticed under him. He was also an accomplished gunmaker and worked through the transitional period from flintlocks to percussion systems. He served as a royal gunmaker to the English monarchy from King George III in 1805 up to Queen Victoria starting in 1837. He died in 1851. This attractive pistol would have been ideal for carrying on a belt via the hook on the left side. Given its size, it would have been quite concealable if necessary. In addition to having been nicely engraved, this one features a captive ramrod on a swivel, a hammer safety, and a cap trap in the pommel. The wooden grip places the hand right behind the axis of the bore, a desirable trait. There is a small silver initial placard at the top of the grip. The barrel is marked “S. NOCK REGENT CIRCUS, PICCADILLY LONDON”. The overall condition is near fine. The safety has a chip as does the skirt of the hammer. The bore is smooth and in great shape. The action is excellent. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-1/4 inches. Caliber: .53 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
