Description:
1894 CARBINE, .30 WCF, #950XXX, MADE 1922. This carbine was fitted with a Lyman 21 “Climbin’ Lyman” receiver sight on the left side of the receiver as well as retaining the original carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact. Fine barrel blue showing only minor thinning, mag tube blue is ageing and mixing with some plum, the receiver is mostly flaked to gray- which is typical for guns made during the 1920s- but showing good blue on the loading gate and under the Lyman receiver sight indicating that it has always been on this carbine. This sight necessitates the removal of the saddle ring, so there is a filler screw where the ring stud was mounted. Excellent attractive red/brown walnut stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit, tight mechanically and bright exc. sharp bore. Classic 98 year old Carbine!
