Originally manufactured in 1864; this Parker Snow & Company .58 caliber rifle was one of 2000 upgraded with the Miller breach loading system by Meriden manufacturing circa 1865-1867. Blade front a leaf rear sights with the lock plate marked 1864 behind the hammer and eagle US and Parker Snow and Co. /Meridian Manfg.co/meridian, Conn. on top the breach block. This is a as found attic gun the full length 3 band dark walnut stock is in good condition with a abrasion near the but plate and scattered paint spots. The full length barrel as well as other metal parts has a dark brown patina which is rough in places the butt plate is pitted. The lock and breach block function fine. The left side of the butt stock is marked 13 over GR which is most likely a unit number. The bore is dark with rifling. This is a fairly rare rifle. Shipping will be actual cost approximately $50.00.
