Weatherby Athena 20 gauge O/U shotgun. Remember the Bank of Boulder (CO), when you could send them money to put in a CD and they would send you the Weatherby gun of your choice (depending on deposit size) in lieu of paying you interest? Well this is one of those guns. I acquired it along with several Weatherby rifles and they all were a result of being interest payments from the Bank of Boulder!
This 20 gauge Athena is absolutely NEW and UNFIRED in the original box. No paper work or manuals (like the rifles) but the extra choke tubes are with the gun. 26” vent rib barrels, single selective trigger, auto ejectors. The gorgeous Walnut pistol grip stock has a 14” LOP over the factory installed Weatherby recoil pad; 1 ½” DAC and 2 3/8” DAH with neutral cast. There is one small “ding” in the wood and that is on the right side of the forearm just to the rear of the checkering panel; otherwise the gun is perfect.
Collect it, hunt with it or both this is a very fine Athena with “killer” wood. Weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. and is lively between the hands.
