All serial number match. Cody paperwork on hand and included in sale
Other than the chokes being opened the gun matches the Cody paperwork exactly as it was built in 1954.
Barrels are stamped “FULL” and “FULL” but at some point have been opened to “MOD” on the right barrel and “I-MOD” on the left barrel. Patterns great. Bores show no pitting of any kind. Gun is mechanically sound and functional. Single selective trigger with factory non-automatic safety. The factory vent rib is straight with no dents or dings. Barrel has small white mid-bead and a larger white bead at muzzle. Barrels show no dents and no signs of separation.
There is blueing wear throughout the the receiver, although there are no deep pits or rust, just surface wear which is common on Winchester Model 21's that were used. The barrels do have blueing wear under the beaver tail fore end that is not visible with the fore end attached.
The full figured American Walnut straight grip “English” styled butt stock still has the Winchester factory pad that is still soft and not dry rot or cracked. All of wood has appeared to be re-finished but not professionally in my opinion. There are scratches and dings on the wood, but none are deep.
This gun is a shooter.
