Description:
Stevens Model 44 "Special Order" Single Shot Rifle in .38-40 caliber. SN #24701. Mfg. 1901-1916. LOP 13". 26" Heavy, 1/2 Round, 1/2 Octagon barrel with a very good bore. Frosted with strong rifling and light pitting. The blued metal and case coloring have been nicely re-finished as has the straight Walnut stock and forend. Crescent buttplate. Tang is tapped for a sight. The 38-40 caliber was not standard and had to be special ordered. More pictures available upon request.
