This is an outstanding example of a Scarce Confederate Robinson Type 1 Richmond Va. Carbine serial number 183. These early Type 1 Robinson's are extremely difficult to come across, let alone at an affordable price. This example has all matching serial numbers on the tang, lockplate, and the barrel. This carbine has been restocked with a US Sharps type stock and forearm. The line up for one tang screw is just short hence why the screw is sticking up. Every metal part exhibits a beautiful appearence. This Carbine has some of the best markings one could look for and want. The markings are absolutely some of the best that can be found on any example. The mechanical function is excellent with a nice bore. This is one of the earliest examples Ive seen and been able to find by far. If this example wasnt restocked it would move for upwards of $15,000.
