Description: General Specs: David McKay Brown, Year 1993, 12 Gauge, 6lbs 10oz, SK/IC Serial Number: 7524 David Mckay Brown is a Scottish trained gunmaker that has garnered deep respect for his meticulous execution in building true round-action, trigger-plate guns in the tradition of John Dickson and other fine Scottish gunmakers. Having started his business in 1974, he has built approximately 30 guns per year at his shop, with nearly all being made to order BEST GUNS for clients in the know. Most of his guns have been delightful round action side x sides, until 1992 when he developed his beautiful and unique over/under gun with a very shallow round action and true trigger plate firing mechanism. This fine David McKay Brown, sn7524 built in 1993, is a supreme example and still in near-new condition. It was shipped with 28” barrels choked SK/IC and a gorgeous, highly-figured Turkish walnut stock set. The gun is the perfect upland gun for grouse or any upland bird over pointing dogs, or for your favorite game at the clay target course. The medium open scroll full-coverage engraving is executed to perfection and is subtly set in a bone and charcoal receiver that retains 98% of its original finish, perfect screws, crisp double triggers, strong and well-timed ejectors, and deeply sculpted fences that are simply elegant in execution. The perfectly struck barrels retain 98% factory blue, mirror bores, solid rib, and lock tightly to the standing breech and hinge pin. The dark figured walnut is seamlessly melded to the action with no cracks or repairs, the checkering executed to perfection with the classic mullered borders, terminating in the traditional checkered butt. The gun weighs a svelte 6lbs. 11oz. and balances dead on the hinge pin for a truly dynamic field gun that is lightning fast to shoulder and feels lighter than the scale depicts. To order a new David McKay Brown over/under today, with the upgraded wood, gold oval in the stock, and the premium engraving will cost over $78,000 and take about 2 years to get into your hands. The David McKay Brown over/under has not changed since its inception in 1992, so it is the same gun that we have here, with its gold-washed trigger plate action and perfect execution, so why spend top dollar and wait so long to get your hands on one of the most desirable over/under game guns in the world? The gun is cased in the most splendid walnut/ebony and leather case I have witnessed. The interior is full French Fit and lined in premium red leather, complete with ebony turn screws, cleaning rods, chamber brush, snap caps, and gold embossed Maker’s address. The case itself is at least a $4000 value. We are offering this hard to get David McKay Brown for immediate delivery at a very amicable price.
