Description:
This is a beautiful VERY lightly used Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 revolver in .357 Magnum manufactured in 1984. It features a very handsome gloss-blue factory finish, a 4" inch barrel, factory iron sights with an adjustable target-style rear sight, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, a color case-hardened trigger and hammer, and factory Goncalo Alves checkered target grips. This Model 19-5 has obviously spent the vast majority of it's life in storage since leaving the factory, and appears to only have been shot a handful of times. The factory gloss blue finish rates 98%, with the only deductions from a very faint drag-line on the cylinder and some tiny handling marks only visible under close inspection. All of the factory stampings are crisp and clear, and all of the action screws have clean un-buggered heads on them. The color case-hardened trigger and hammer rate 98% plus as well, with both parts showing lots of beautiful bright colors. The bore in this Smith is mirror-bright and in excellent condition. The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves throughout the barrel, and there are no visible imperfections whatsoever. The 6 chambers of the cylinder are equally as clean and bright. The factory Goncalo Alves target grips are beautiful on this Model 19, with both sides in excellent condition. If not for a few tiny little handling marks they would be mint. Both grips are free from any cracks, repairs, major damage, or wear. The checkering is still crisp and clean, and both grips have perfect S&W medallions. The action on this Smith is smooth, precise, and perfectly "in time". At full-lock the cylinder is rock-solid with zero felt wiggle or play in it. All of the controls on this S&W are in perfect working order, and we have no doubt it will function just as reliably and accurately now as the day it left the factory 36 years ago. If you have been looking for a classy and collectible .357 Magnum revolver for your collection this Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 would be an excellent choice. As one of the finest revolver designs that S&W has ever made, the Model 19 will always be a sought-after revolver and excellent long-term investment.
