Description:
This bar hammer pistol is in perfect working condition, the serial number 484 marked under barrel.
Marked with patented date 1845 on left side of barrel and on top of the barrel hAllen & Thurber and
lightly marked Worcester.
The frame is Engraved handle about all original lacquer and no chips or cracks.
It is double action with 3 inch barrel witch would have to be unscrewed to load.
It is 36cal. With good rifeling.
It is shown in Flayderman's page 53 5A-005 the value was $500.00 to $950.00
these were made up to1860 so no doubt a number of these were used in the Civil War.
The bar hammer pistols are very desirable because after they mostly were side hammer cap lock.
