Description:
Very Fine Sharps's Model 3B Pepperbox Pistol. Serial #9924, 32 RF, 3 1/2" four-barrel cluster with bright very good plus to perhaps near excellent bores, the left barrels showing a few patches of light oxidation and otherwise strong rifling throughout. The barrels of this very handsome pistol retain about 95% original bright blue with the loss due to some very fine flaking along the sides toning to an attractive smooth brown patina along with a few scattered very light dings. The frame is a pleasant silvery patina showing a few tiny dings and some scattered mild brown freckling. The Sharps patent date on the right side frame and address along the barrel remain crisp and clear. The hammer nose, grip retainer, rear hammer spring and trigger all show some very nice bright fire blue with a little minor freckling. The smooth rosewood grips remain in very good plus to near excellent condition showing strong original varnish that is lightly flaking and crazing throughout. Barrel lock-up is solid and the action seems to function well mechanically with properly rotating hammer nose. A very lovely Sharps pepperbox rarely seen in such nice condition.
