One of 25 US Trials Rifles that were sold to the US army in 1921 and modified by the Springfield armory, it still has the rack # (4) written on very old masking tape that is on the barrel , its faint but you can see it, it is 100% original with original blue and wood finish and has not had modifications done to it since leaving the armory, There is a complete wright up on this rifle in " The Great Remington Model 8 " Book by John Henwood on page 116 , This is a Authentic rifle and very rare there are only 12 known and this one is one of the finest original example known, Bore is Excellent bright and shiny, it is in 25 remington cal. it works great , I originally bought this to hunt with an found out later that it woulbe better off in a collection instead of out in the woods, POR and will be interested in trades on other Remington model 8's and Winchester pre 64 70's ,call for more info / photos
