The "relief engraving is very difficult and very unusual to perform along with the verified 24K Gold embellishment. Obviously, THIS 16ga. Double was simply NOT a 'sporting gun" for the public;s pleasure..BUT..was a 'commisioned  specimen that the Emporer had (his) "armorer perform as a "presentation piece" to some one of Royalty or perhaps of Military significance. The gun/fusil was obviously well cared for & obviously seldom used in the field. The Original finish remains as shown on Metal & Wood..
