Description:
A BRAND NEW, CUSTOM FINISHED Winchester Grade IV 1873 in 44-40 caliber. 24" octagon barrel with full magazine tube and NO CROSSBOLT SAFETY. This rifle was marketed "in the white" with no finish on most of the metal surfaces. The idea was to provide a high grade rifle suitable for customizing and final finishing. Made some time ago by Miroku in Japan, this rifle is not to be confused with the current grade I's, which have plain wood, poor finishes and generally lack quality workmanship. This rifle is in all respects worthy as a family heirloom. Hi grade wood, bone charcoal case colors protected by a thin layer of lacquer, and rust blued barrel. The action is as smooth as can be and it has been test fired with live ammunition. Its is ready to take to the range and sight in. I will let the hi def photos taken in natural light tell the rest of the story. The wood grain and color looks considerably better in person. 3 day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period runs from time of receipt by your FFL.
