Description:
This is a gorgeous model 61 in 22 WRF vintage 1938. All original finishes in outstanding condition for a rifle of this vintage. It is the very hard to find octagon barrel WRF cartridge. Serial number 37,2xx. Acquired from the original owners son, who is himself now elderly, this rifle was earmarked for the Cody museum until recently. The situation changed and now this fine rifle is on the market for the first time since it was new. the rifle has seen little if any field use. Minor scuffs and impressions on the stock, minor bluing imperfections, but no carry wear/blue thinning from carry. Slide wear from cycling the action is it.
