Description:
Here is a very cool and collectible vintage Smith & Wesson revolver. This is a Model 53 chambered in .22 Rem. Jet magnum which is a centerfire .22 Caliber. Also has the adjustable firing pin selector on the hammer because they did sometimes come with a second cylinder chambered for .22 Magnum that you could swap out. Has a factory 8.38" barrel with a minty looking bore that has sharp crisp rifling. Pinned and recessed. This Smith was built in 1961 which means that it does qualify as a C&R. Factory target trigger, hammer, and adjustable sights. Hogue rubber grips. The finish has some wear as you can see in the pictures but overall I would say that there is still about 65% or better left on the finish. Mechanically this gun works excellent and it has good timing and lockup. Someone added an orange insert to the front sight This is just a very cool piece of Smith and Wesson history that would be great addition to any collection. This also comes with 2 boxes of ammunition. The green box is missing one round but it is filled with factory loaded cartridges. The red box are reloads so we are selling those as reloading components only, you will have to separate the cartridge components yourself (We never recommend shooting reloads done by anyone but yourself!). The ammunition will also have to be shipped separately on ground so please take that in mind regarding freight.
