Here we present a Winchester “Standard” Model 64 Lever Action Rifle manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut in 1954. Production was from 1933-1957, with an estimated at 66,783 manufactured. The Model 55 was an off-shoot of the Model 1894 product line and the Model 64 was simply another variation on the 94’s design. Same frame and serial range as the 1894 and offered in most of the same cartridges. Many differences were aesthetic and came at a time when Winchester was attempting to rebrand the 1894 rifle variants while keeping up production of the ever-popular 1894 carbines.
This one features a 24-inch round barrel in .30-30, a pistol grip butt stock, and a fuller forearm. A nice handy rifle that would still put meat on the table today!
The overall condition is near fine. The action is strong and tight. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. A great piece from the 1950s!
