Made in the United States with less than 700 known to exist. "DM Lefever Maker and patintee" engraved on rib. "DM Lefever Hammerless Patent June 20 1880" on left lock. "DM Lefever Hammerless Patent" stamped on right lock. Patent 1872 and 1878 on bottom of frame. Case hardened, scroll engraved frame. With thumb opener and side cocking lever. Fine twist steel barrels, with concave rib and extractors. Barrel and frame serial numbers match. Pistol grip, walnut stock with steel engraved grip cap with checkered horn butt plate- original. Checkered walnut splinter forearm with ebony inlay and hidden push-button release. Condition: Barrels retain 60% originigal Damascus finish with bright bores. Action retains 10% case colors in protected areas turning brown. 60% original varnish with sharp checkering, no breaks, cracks, or restoration.
