Description:
F.lli Piotti bespoke matched pair of Monaco side-lock 20 gauge SxS shotguns. From the muzzle to the heel and toe plates this pair of gorgeous shotguns were specially ordered, and custom built by Piotti in 2005.
Starting with the 29 5/8” barrels: the top rib is smooth, concave and gently tapered to the muzzle with unique gold front sighting bead; 2 ¾” chambers; Teague of England nearly-invisible choke tubes; gold wire around the barrels at the breech and #’s 1 or 2 gold inlaid on the top of the ribs.
The receivers are profusely engraved, and gold inlaid by Italian master engraver Mario Terzi of Creative Arts. As you can see in the photos the gold scroll, floral, birds, dogs, numbers and initials are beyond exquisite! Single non-selective trigger, automatic safety and auto ejectors are all features on both guns. Other than the numbers 1 and 2 the only other difference on the engraving between the two guns is the position of “HANK” the gold inlaid retriever on the floorplate.
The straight grip stock and splinter forearms are checkered with what must be about a 32 line per inch pattern. Both stocks have identical gold inlaid heel and toe plates with skip line checkering in between. Forearms have Anson style releases with numbers 1 or 2 engraved in gold just below the release.
Dimensions: LOP 14 ¼”; 1 ½” DAC and 2 1/8” DAH with 3/8” cast at the heel for a left-hand shooter and ½” at the toe. My “stock guy” tells me that the cast can be changed in order to accommodate a right-hand shooter. The guns weigh 6 lbs. 1 oz. each.
Comes in Piotti leather motor case (by Nizzoli) with Teague chokes, paperwork and canvas cover.
