*** SOLD *** Beautiful Classic Doubles American Flyer Live Bird pigeon/trap gun in excellent condition. Classic Doubles finished these guns to a high standard and because of limited production they are much sought after today. Only around 200 were made. Deep blue finish on frame and barrels with gold accent stripes and a gold pigeon inlaid on the bottom of the frame. The photos do not do justice to the richness of the bluing on the frame and barrels. The top of the chamber area on the barrels is finished in a flat matte finish to reduce glare. Highly figured walnut pistol grip stock with beavertail forearm with finger groove for a solid grip. It has a gold-plated selective single trigger and selective auto ejectors. Weighs 8lb 6oz. *** The 28” barrels are topped by a raised, stepped high rib and are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. Several unique features of the American Flyer series is that the barrels have no side rib and the rib supports were slanted forward; all done to increase swing speed. It has a metal middle bead and a white Bradley style front sight. The top barrel has a fixed Full choke barrel and the bottom barrel has the factory screw-in Winchoke system with Modified currently in place. Both barrels are factory over-bored at 0.735. The constriction on the upper barrel is 0.040. *** The pistol grip stock and beavertail forearm are made from highly figured walnut and have a beautiful high gloss finish. There are a few handling marks on the stock and forearm. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2” over the original factory recoil pad by 1-3/8” by 1.25”. Neutral cast. It is important to remember that shorter barrels enable the shooter to get on target more quickly – an important advantage in live bird shooting. This is an excellent price. Do not let iet it get away. *** I only sell to US residents. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense if the gun is not as described in the listing.
