Here is a nice old round barrel 1873. No rust or pitting but not much finish either. Thankfully it's not been treated to any cleaning and has a nice, mellow, patina. The rear sight is a replacement. If I were keeping the rifle I would probably leave the sight outside for a couple months and it might look more age appropriate. And the band around the tube is a replacement as well. Now the bad stuff is out of the way, let's get to the good. The wood is solid and well-fitting- no sanding and very few mars on it. The metal is a smooth old patina with no rust anywhere. The dust cover is there and original and fits with no flop. I've included pictures of the bore such as I'm capable of taking. I think it's very good for a rifle fed black powder fo the first 10 years of its existence. Function is fine. This is a solid old Winchester from the wild west days (it came off a South Dakota ranch) that would be a good shooter or a nice piece for a person who appreciates history and the artifacts from long ago. $50 shipping and insurance to your door as this is an antique.
