Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 10-5, double-action, .38 special revolver, with a 6-inch pinned barrel, target walnut checkered grips, service trigger (0.265-inch wide) with smooth face, service hammer (0.265-inch wide spur) with checkered spur.  There are no box, papers, or other accessories.  The revolver has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock.  The year of manufacture is between 1973-74.

This gun was customized for PPC (Practical Police Course) competition.  To that end, barrel and front sight was removed, and a 11/16-inch-diameter barrel was added, alomg with a Wichita elevated rib sight.  Also, the cylinder released was replaced with a slightly large release.  The rear sight can be set to four positive repeatable range settings.  The front sight is fixed.  The ventilated design dissipates heat, reduces sight distortion and weight.

The overall condition of this gun, as customized, is 95+ percent.  The metal and finish of the gun is in excellent condition; the only wear is the cylinder-lock ring on the cylinder.

The checkered walnut grips are in excellent condition.  The checkering is deep and crisp with no damage.  There is a couple very small nicks on the butt.

As mentioned above, there are no box, papers, or accessories for this gun.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Please excuse the oil smears in the photos.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($25) and insurance ($9.10), if insurance is desired.  I will accept a personal check, but will hold the gun until it clears.  I will also accept USPS money orders which I do not have to hold, as they clear immediately.  I will accept other type money orders, but will hold gun until they clear.    Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall.
