SOLD A long barrel 19th century fowler that was used quite often with a 44"barrel length and the bore isn't too bad, but I don't sell guns over 100 years as a shooter as I'm not sure of it's use or any posssible weaknesses it may have.The lightly engraved lock works well on both cocks and in front of the hammer is heavy corrrosion and pitting from continual use. Also around the nipple is heavy corrosion and pitting. Tjhe American walnut stock is good , dusty from hanging on a mantle and solid thoughout. The butt-plate and triggerguard are iron and the rest of the furniture is /german silver. This gun could use a good cleaning.The nipple is complete but needs to be cleaned. The exterior metal of the barrel is brown patina, and the original wood ram-rod is present. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
