Description:
SOLD PENDING FUNDS----From my private collection I have for sale a collector quality Ithaca Nitro 20-gauge shotgun with 28” barrels choked M/F and so marked. This Nitro Special is in almost Museum quality condition. Vibrant original case colors with only a bit of wear underneath, unturned screws, beautiful original bluing on the barrel and intact original wood finish. There are not cracks or gouges in the wood and the original flat top checkering is in great condition. It weighs just 6 pounds 1 ounce. Some folks look down on the Nitro Specials but in fact they were wonderful guns that handle and shoot great. This gun must have sat in someone’s closet for many years with little or no use. I have shot many woodcock, Pheasants and Grouse with it over my Llewellin Setters. For Grouse and Woodcock I use 2 ½” RST spreader loads. For Pheasant just regular 2 ¾” #6 and they fold with authority. The chamers are 2 3/4" so you can shoot whicever length you want. I don’t know just what else I can say about this fine vintage SxS other than I don’t think there are many around that can match its condition and quality. Thanks for looking.
