Description:
Rarely found Hoffman Arms Co. Howe/Whelen bolt shroud peep sight for the Springfield. Good condition. Rare as hens teeth. Colonel Townsend Whelen was the commanding officer at the Frankford Arsenal and James Howe the machine shop foreman in the early 1920's. Colonel Whelen encouraged James Howe to join forces with Seymour Griffin to build custom rifles. Howe shortly thereafter left to join the Hoffman Arms Co. The rest is history.
