Description:
Just in on consignment we have this very rare and very collectible revolver. This is a near mint Smith and Wesson Model 1950 Target chambered in .44 Special. This gun was the predecessor to the Model 24 and made in very limited numbers. These guns have became very collectible over the years and this is one of the finest examples that you will find for sale. The serial number dates this gun to being built in late 1955 through early 1956, just before they switched over to the numbered models. Has the factory pinned 6.5" barrel with a minty bore that has deep crisp rifling. The chambers in the cylinder all look excellent. This gun is very tight with excellent lockup and timing. Has the factory target hammer, trigger, and sights. The front sight has an added orange insert that was done very well. The finish on this gun is outstanding for a 65 year old gun! At least 95% or better of the beautiful original bright blued finish remains with only very faint thinning just behind the muzzle and on the cylinder. Really this gun is near mint and close to 100%. The checkered wood grips with the S&W logo embedded in each side are in excellent condition also with only faint handling marks on the bottom of them. See all of our pictures of this beautiful vintage Smith & Wesson revolver and if you have any questions at all please call Justin or Ben at Olde West (530)243-8334.
