Description:
Model 1841 Tryon contract rifle in very good cleaned Cond. All wood is sound and solid but has been cleaned and has no inspecter marks. All metal parts are cleaned and smooth with good markings on lock plate but no proof marks on barrel. This gun is one of thousands of 1841s that were altered by the national armories in the late 1850s. Barrel was rebored to 58 Cal. with 3 groove rifleing and bayonet lug was added for saber bayonet which also required a shorter type front barrel band. Ramrod is correct with threaded tip. Bayonet is unmarked originmal and fits the lug perfect'
