Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a beautiful and unique antique double-action pinfire revolver made by the Belgian firm Mariette Brevete. This trim little .31 caliber pinfire revolver features a 3.75" inch barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, full-checkered Walnut grips, a ring trigger, and a very unique design for loading and unloading. This pinfire is 8" inches long overall and weighs in at 14 ounces. All of the major parts are stamped with the serial number "6". The the left side of the frame where the barrel screws-in is stamped "6 Mariette Brevete", and there are small firing proofs stamped on each chamber of the cylinder and under the barrel. It is a very nicely made gun, with a lot of attention paid to the fit of all of the parts. To open the gun up you uncrew the knurled knob on the frame ahead of the trigger and the barrel and cylinder slide out a little under 2" inches. This allows the user to eject the spent shells with the right-side mounted ramrod, or to load the cylinder with ease. The barrel and cylinder can be removed at this point entirely with just the removal of the threaded end-cap on the rod that the barrel and cylinder are mounted on. While we were able to find other revolvers from this firm that have some similar features, none of them have all of these features on one gun. The ring-trigger is especially unique, with the only other ring-trigger pistols from this firm being multi-barrel pepperbox models. As you can see from the pictures, this pinfire has a very attractive look to it. The original factory blue finish on the cylinder is still glossy and bright, and the remainder of the gun has a uniform gray patina. The bore in this pinfire is excellent with strong rifling, and the cylinder bores are all equally as clean and bright. The finely-checkered Walnut grips are in very good condition, free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The checkering is still crisp and only shows some minor handling marks. Both grip panels are expertly fit to the gun and tight to the grip frame with no wiggle. All of the controls/functions on this Mariette Brevete revolver are in perfect working order, and the action is still "in time" and precise. We have no doubt that if someone was able to find the ammunition for this little revolver that it would function just as well today as the day it left the factory more than 150 years ago. If you have been looking for a really unique and attractive antique revolver for your collection this double-action pinfire would be a great choice. It would be nearly impossible to find another like it in any condition, much less as clean and 100% functional like one.
