Barrel and mag have about 50% blue turning a pleasing plum/brown. Sharp corners and excellent markings. Original sights include a blade front sight and typical buckhorn rear sight. Nice crisp tight action. Very fine bright bore with sharp rifling. I checked with Gordan's 73 book and found there were only 3 that were 34 inch in 38-40 caliber with octagon barrel reported. The 34 inch is the scarcest of all the long barrel Winchesters. There was quite a number of 32 inch and the 36 inch are rare but they are still encountered. Gordon states he only found 6 of these to exist. 3 of them were 38's and 3 were 32's. Wood shows some minor handling with most original varnish and a rifle style buttplate. Comes complete with Factory Letter. Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms.
