Description:
***   SOLD   ***   Very nice period oak & leather shotgun case that at one time was owned by no less than Major Sir Gerald Burrard the accomplished author of a number of books about British guns, shooting, and the gun trade including the classic “The Modern Shotgun”. The case will accommodate up to 30” barrels with an additional half-inch for a top extension. It will also accept up to a 15” length of pull as measured from the front trigger.   ***   This case was expertly restored about five years ago. It was recovered with top grain leather but the portion of the original leather showing Major Burrard’s name was preserved and can be viewed through a “window” in the new leather. The interior was re-lined with top quality wool baize. All partitions were re-glued in place. There are two covered compartments in the case along with provision for two snap caps as well as for a two-piece cleaning rod at the bottom of the barrel compartment. Case has brass corners, a working latch(no key), two straps to secure the lid, and the handle has been redone. Please note that any case may require some adjustment to achieve perfect fit for the purchaser’s gun. Would make a perfect accompaniment to a fine game gun. A great way to display your classic double. Great price! ***   I only sell to US residents. I give a 3-day inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense if the case is not as described in the listing. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and insurance charges. Only the case is for sale. The shotgun pictured was used for display purposes only and is not included. The buyer will be very pleased with the condition of this fine case.
