Description:
This is an exceptional condition Winchester model 63. This little 22 semi-auto has a professionally mounted 4X Marlin Micro-Vue scope with nice clear optics. This gun was built shortly before Winchester started to groove the receivers to facilitate a claw mount scope base. This production change took place in the final 2 years of manufacture (1958-1959). Winchester produced the model 63 from 1933 to 1959, with total production numbers around 175,000. The S/N on this rifle indicates a 1957 build date. The overall condition of the metal and wood is remarkable for a gun of 60+ years. The deep blue metal finish is absolutely original and in 98% condition. The original walnut stocks have never had any finish added. They show only light handling marks, with no cracks or repairs. The barrel is 23" long, has a mint bore, and it's original sight package intact. All script, proof marks and S/N are crisp as day one. The gun takes down and reassembles easily and tightly, as it should. It is exceedingly hard to find this model without damage to the side panels. It is unfortunate that a scope was mounted, but that was about your only option if you wanted or needed one. Other then the vintage scope, this is a fine example of one of the premier 22 automatics ever built. Payment by Postal Money order unless otherwise discussed.
